Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural household. Her birthplace was within South London. Madekwe is English, and her father is Nigerian. Her family was raised in a council estate south of London. At the age 14, she attended The Brit School. She was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an BA in acting. While attending the school and performing in numerous stage productions, such as the King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her career as an actor through the film Storm Damage. In the years since, she's had guest appearances in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was in Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following that success, she played Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. She was Bambi in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was also the lead character in How to lose friends & alienate people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment back in the year 2008. She was also in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path written directed by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on the drama The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes before it was ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series of Revenge on ABC for two seasons. The show was announced in May 2013 that she'd be leaving the series following a guest episode in the very first season of the third. In the television series Salem, she played Tituba between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe and her boyfriend who has been with her for a long time, Iddo Goldenberg, were wed in June of 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and he was also on the show with Madekwe on the TV show Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. Her family included both parents Roy and Patty along with four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey throughout the winter and summer months. They grew up playing the arenas and baseball. Ashley couldn't walk, however she was able to dance. In the end, as she grew older She discovered Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley was a competitor in ballet, jazz and tap in high divisions. She was the top soloist in big competitions, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
