It is most effective when working with living things as well as items that have a shelf life such as fruits or people. Alexa Meade's painting style, that is extremely ephemeral its nature, can be seen. The only thing of Alexa's art that survives is the photo. Trompe-l'oeil art is created using the two processes of photography and painting. The result is an unflattened and two-dimensional photograph. Meade will sometimes integrate her painted model into the environment around her and allows her to work within their own world. The distinctions between performance photography, installation and painting can be dissolved.
